So clever you think you are. Ouch, I just got lectured by a child on the Internet. Heh.
So clever one, years ago perhaps before you were born, I was playing Quake on the PC with a controller.
Oops? I'm at least as old as you are, if not older. At the time you were using a controller to play Quake, I was also playing Quake, Unreal, and CS when they released in the mid-to-late 90s. Except I was playing with a mouse instead of a controller.
Yes, they were around before your holy PlayStation even had an idea of what a FPS game was.
Never had a PlayStation. Did have an N64 though. Not sure how this is relevant to anything I played on PC though.
The same problem however even existed back then as I think Quake was the first game to incorporate +mlook. I started to get hammered by players who had learned to use their mouse in the game.
So again you admit that using a mouse gives a distinct advantage unrelated to player skill - the hardware itself is the limiting factor.
Solution to the problem was not for Id Software to create a handicap though, the solution was for "me" to learn how to use a mouse if I wanted to be competitive. Which I did.
Yes, learning to use a mouse to play a PC game against other mouse-wielding PC gamers makes sense.
Now saying this, both PlayStation and Xbox consoles are able to use a keyboard and mouse.
No. Console users should not be required to purchase additional hardware to compete with PC users. This is a console game first, and the console playerbase dwarfs that of PC users, so PC users are going to have to step down to play with consoler users. They aren't conforming to PC standards, you are conforming to their console standards. I know as an elitist this is a difficult concept for you to grasp.
The problem is, you guys would rather bitch about the PC players that are dominating you instead of learning how to use a better tool(s).
See, how I can tell you didn't actually read my post when you got "lectured". Literally the 2nd sentence of my post:
PC players, of which I am one, have an innate advantage over console players because of the hardware inputs they use (mouse vs tiny thumbstick).
Hence a handicap created just for controller players to feel better about themselves.
Also mentioned in my previous post - you should've finished reading before replying.
That said, aim assist existed before crossplay was a thing.....because aiming with thumbsticks is effing hard. Kids don't want to play fantasy games where they can't hit anything because of inadequate controller inputs.
I mean who was losing sleep over the issue in reality?
You most likely? You certainly seem pretty mad right about aim-assist in general.
Obviously you guys since something was incorporated into the game that had NEVER been there in ANY previous releases.
Once again, I play on PC AND aim-assist has absolutely been around before Modern Warfare.
Your main objection still seems to be that you think you are more skilled than console users, so it aggravates you when they kill you and it's entirely aim assist that is letting them do so. As if, you wouldn't die to those console plebs if aim assist was removed. Which it should be, in your opinion, so you could rightfully dominate all those lesser-skilled plebs. Again, whatever helps you sleep at night.
