i see big price difference here can one of our tech leaders explain the difference between these two and isnt amd coming out with a 4th gen cpu.:cool:
There are some big changes in the way the chips are designed, the cores and the interconnects between have been improved, reducing the distance and number of stages that data has to pass through which reduces latency and makes for a better performing processor with the 5000 series.

There is more to it than that, but that's about as simple as I can make it.

The new CPUs will add another innovation, the 3d Cache, again, this is about reducing the distance that data has to travel and reducing the number of contact points, which should see a massive improvement in performance. These will not be a new generation, it's more of a half generational step.
