COD: Black Ops 6 on Xbox Series X

Have downloaded the Cross-Gen version of Black Ops 6 with my Xbox ultimate subscription, on Xbox Series X. Bought Valut upgrade yesterday. What I'm wondering is, I see what's installed on the xbox. And when I install it the first time, I choose Campaign and Multiplayer, along with COD HQ. But then there are so many content packs, and Cross-gen packs there too. A couple of these have also been downloaded, without me having selected them. What's going on? Think the whole setup here is very messy? What is normal to download? Some on Series X, with only Single Player and Multiplayer installed. And Valut update. What is normal to have installed files? Should I install all Cross-gen packs?

Sorry for my bad english, I try my best. With help from google translate =)

And another question, what are the cross-gen packs do? Is it wise to install all the packages to black ops 6?

Its the same game.

Let's say you have PlayStation 4... that Cross-Gen "bundle" has a code for the PlayStation 5 version. So.... Your Xbox version has the Xbox One version and the Xbox Series version on the same bundle. I'm not sure how it works there, but its treated as the same game.

okay, so the Cross-gen pack is not nessesary? But I se Cross-Get pack 4 is installed, but I have not done it. Why is just 4 installed then?? I really dont understand why =/

You downloaded the Cross-Gen version so Microsoft recognizes it as such. So all those packs are installed. To be fair you bought the Vault upgrade so you're confused. I agree that it seems convoluted, but if Microsoft is pushing downloads like that in order to make it all work.

So if the game works, just don't worry how it all works.

Again, I understand its confusing but Cross Gen is the same game.

So just let the cross-gen pack that is install, be there. And don`t think of the other tings =)

Another thing I woundring about, I download Black Ops 6 from Xbox store, with Ultimate. But after I buy the Valute update, And install this. When I then try to play Black Ops 6, I need to download the campaign and mulitplayer files again. Is that normal?

Now is the game size on 160GB, and thats is only the COD HQ and Black ops 6 Campaign and Mulitplayer.

Yup.

Yes. Has been since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019).

Call of Duty HQ is irrelevant to how big the game is. Call of Duty HQ is actually the first thing you see. Call of Duty HQ is actually "Call of Duty app" which rolls Call of Duty games since 2019 to now, as an all in one app. So, they count one install as the same thing. They're trying to sell more units, and more users logging in.

The reason why the game is big is because the developers are bloating the game itself. Back when Modern Warfare (2019) came out this was ok, this was acceptable. Now, its not. Its taking up space on the hard drive (SSD's today.) The game(s) are not optimized well. For example, there's another thread talking about how big WARZONE is. They still have not figured out how to optimize the game - Warzone has the same EXACT files from... Black Ops 6. Once upon launch, the integration broke everything.

Sigh.
