Error: an update is required. You must be signed in to PlayStation Network and accept the update to play

I've checked everywhere there's no update. Other games work no problem. I tried to reinstall the game as well. Not sure what's going on here.

Mine was doing the exact same thing. Go to your settings menu and then go to users and accounts. Then check and make sure your e-mail has been verified. I just did that, then restarted. Now I can play the campaign.

My email hasn’t changed since I created my account years ago, and it’s a verified email. I’m still not able to play and it’s bugging me.
 
I'm in the same position. Verified my PSN account, signed in on PS5, everything is updated + system is updated and still I get this message "An update is required. You must be signed into PlayStation Network and accept the update to play Call of Duty".....
 
In order to fix that problem you need to do the following, quick back story, today I bought a PS5, I attached my PS4 external to play MW2, as soon as the game booted up I recieved the same error message. Use the following steps to play the game
Settings, Users and accounts, other, Restore Licences
Once it restores licenses a update will occur and the game will then go through a series of updates and enjoy.

I tried all this and it didn’t work for me
Bought the ps5 and cod2 disk and I just keep getting this same message
Starting to think maybe the game is no good

I have done everythin you have said and still nothing what should I do????

Do I buy another disk or just download from store?
Did you get in or what did you do am having a nightmare

The issue for me was because I wasn't logged into the correct user. I was logged in as a guest and was using that to open my game. Close the game, sign in to your main account and then open it again. It should immediately start updating it then.
 
Pls any one know the right thing to do on COD vanguard, software is updated, restored license done, email is verified, right user, but still having it saying An update is required, you must be signed in to PlayStation Network and accept the update to play call of duty vanguard…..other games like God of war works fine without this …
 
If you still can’t log in after restoring licenses then the problem is you don’t have enough storage for the update to automatically begin by itself. Try going to Storage in Settings and delete items to free up space or buy an external hard drive to plug in.
