Gaming Headsets

KeyboardDemon

PC Gamer: Nearly Dangerous
I've been awarded/gifted a gaming headset, it will be with me sometime this week or maybe next week, but I don't know what headset it is, I'll tell you more when I get it.

I'm hoping it will be something decent, as I know what company makes it but no spoilers for now, just that it's not any of the major known brands that most people will think of. So not Logitech, Corsair, Razor, SteelSeries etc....

It got me wondering though, what gaming Headsets are you using?

What do you like most about your headset?

What do you dislike?

Are you using a DAC with it?

im using logitech g pro wireless and its all love no dislikes at all and the mic plugs in or out so i can replace it if i need to.right now not using mic because im using a yeti which is logitech. i use all logitech so i can control it all with one software.

Logitech do make some decent kit, I am hoping for something wired over wireless, despite advances in battery life, audio quality, features and reliability. I think I would prefer an excellent quality wired headset with a decent DAC to drive it to get the best audio and mic quality.

I will never buy a wireless headset unless the advancements have less lag or input lag. I don't trust it. Same goes for those mouses that are wireless. My experience with wireless mouse is sour. I won't buy wireless mouse, fuck that shit.

Turtle Beach is a good cheap headset to get. I have it for my PS4 gaming, my brother has a different headset.

Wireless headset technology has seen massive improvements, you can't tell the difference in audio quality over the same non-wireless models and technologies such as Logitech's Lightspeed have overcome lag/latency issues, you can read more about it here. Though some people will never be convinced, and I strongly suspect that there is a chance my new mystery package could be Wireless, so I am going to reserve making a full judgement on that debate until I have tried it.

I have had my HyperX Cloud II headset since they launched in 2015, they feature amazing 53mm dynamic drivers with neodymium magnets, a 10Hz-23kHz range and were supplied with a USB soundcard to drive that 7.1 surround experience.

They were £150 when I got them, and they are still selling now, 8-years later for around £60 with an average of 4.5/5 star reviews. I could have gotten as many as 7 sets of Turtle Beach for the price of my HyperX but wouldn't have had the audio or build quality that the HyperX offers.

Fortunately, because of my job, my HyperX were supplied to me for work purposes and this new mystery set is also being supplied to me as a work requirement, I just haven't been told what because that information is under NDA to protect the negotiations between my company and the manufacturer until all the contracts have been signed, sealed, and delivered.

I have a G06-BT Wireless headset and I love it..

Very easy to use.. But a problem has developed.. The AutoShutOff went out so if I don't remember to shut it off after a session, it dies and I have to recharge it..

Other than that, it's awesome..
4.3 stars from 7962 reviews, not bad.

I finally got my gaming headset, it took forever to arrive, but more importantly I'm debating on getting it out of the box and using it straight away or waiting until I have a DAC to drive the headset.

If I got a DAC, it would need to have a switch on the front so I can alternate between headphones and speakers and later connect some bookshelf speakers to it. I don't want something too expensive, I like the GSP 1000 from EPOS, but not the price and the EPOS GSX 300, doesn't switch between speakers and headphones.

Can anyone make any recommendations on this?

As for the headphones, I got the EPOS H6Pro Closed, but they have yet to be taken out of the packaging, so not tested yet, and sadly, they are black and not green, which I would have preferred.

i would not know about dac i just click the speaker on task bar and switch back and forth with that.

just checked them out and i never heard of those but they look real nice

I am using the

Razer BlackShark V2 - Black

and I love it. It is wired to my dedicated soundblaster soundcard. Sounds great and excellent microphone.
