Going back to the Classics

Ahh. Call of Duty 2. I haven't played you until it came out. I remember installing this bad boy on the day it was released. Good memories!
I prefer the WW2 CODS. They seem far more realistic, not to mention I just put on the history channel learn a few things and bust heads on the side. Driving that tank was bada$$! I might even re-install that beast just to run some guys over and blow up some buildings!! oh hooo those summer nights. Thanks for the memories!

The best gun was the sniper rifle and the levels where you gotta take out the tanks while lying in that broken down building.
(then again ALL CODS have this map/level. infact all CODS are just remakes of the last one with better graphics)

Still tho with all the re-making in this series I can't but help to enjoy myself when BOOM! another headshot.

I was just playing through the Russian campaign on veteran the other day. This game was the bomb, definitely the best launch title when the Xbox 360 came out. Had so many good memories online for both Xbox live and playing online on the PC version.

I used to play this one all the time. I even played it with my dad back in the old days. This game had a lot of memories for me.
I really like that idea of putting on the history channel as you play the game, I should have thought of that back then, I've always been interested in WWII games.

thethirdeye, that mission is my all time favorite, I remember trying to kill every person that would be spawning, only to realize it was unlimited haha

This is still my favorite game, both singleplayer and multiplayer. The epic campaign missions and the hilariously fun multiplayer experience are engraved into my brain to this day. This was the time when the History Channel was also known as the Hitler Channel and at this age I was a history buff on World War II, I was so fixated with it.

I still play it on my Xbox occasionally, but never am able to play multiplayer these days. It's definitely a fun game and how games are supposed to be made.

Haha, I'm sure it's just the little boy in me, but my favorite parts were always using the stationary machine gun emplacements. It was so fun to hold a line from advancing troops. Even if it was virtually impossible to lose, there's just something about those moments where the game gives you overwhelming power that feel so much fun. It's a good breather from running and ducking.

It's too bad that no one really plays multiplayer on the classic Call of Duty games. I still enjoy the campaign modes though. I feel that they're all more unique since the ideas for the games were a lot fresher back then. It's also just a very interesting time period, rich with history and valor.

I played this one when I was sick of Halo. I just remember one map in particular (although I forget the name) and in my eyes the game wasn't very popular (I could never get into it).

Now that I see how popular CoD is, I never would have thought that what I was playing at the time of Call of Duty 2 would become so successful. It's cool to think about.

This is probably my favorite call of duty to this day. They REALLY need to make another really good WW2 cod like COD2 and WAW combined or something.

This game is one the greatest games of all time! It has terrific graphics, if we have in mind the time of release, it was way ahead of its time. Gameplay wise it's simply perfect and I kinda wish the series could have continued using CoD 2 controls and gameplay, it's fast and precise.

I actually still play multiplayer matches with some friends over Lan and we have a blast, it's fun and a good alternative to CS 1.6!

Remember when this game first came out, and how innovative the graphics were for being a launch title. COD2 on high settings comes close rivaling with the graphics in the newer Call of Duty games even.

I know a lot of people who don't even play "Call Of Duty" anymore. They moved on to the sequels and never looked back. I'm not one of those people though. I actually prefer "Call Of Duty" to the sequels personally.

I know! It's a real bummer, too! COD 2 was the very first game that I played online and it had a pretty good-sized community. Nowadays, I'm lucky to find maybe one or two others in the lobby. It's still a good game, too. I imagine many people have already either sold it or allowed it to collect dust.
