Hey everyone,
I’m having a performance issue with my GTX 1650 (ASUS TUF F15 FX506LH) laptop while playing Call of Duty.
During gameplay, the GPU runs around 70–80% usage, then suddenly drops to 20%, causing severe lag and stuttering.
Interestingly, CSGO runs perfectly, no drops or stutters at all.
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
What could be causing these sudden drops in GPU usage?
Could this be thermal throttling, power limits, driver bugs, or a CPU bottleneck?
Any advice to keep the GPU stable in Call of Duty would be appreciated.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:
- Updated to the latest NVIDIA drivers and Windows version
- Replaced thermal paste and cleaned fans
- Using Armoury Crate in Turbo mode
- Power plan set to Ultimate Performance in Control Center
