i think CoD should take some time to focus on its next big upgrades and capitalizing on some of the things it is good at...
Idea number 1.
CoD: Apocalypse.
Campaign features a squadron at the start of the zombie outbreak being dropped into a city with little to know knowledge in which they would need to accomplish a multitude of goals.. they are faced with challenges and loss and overall resistance to their mission of survival and retrieval of important information or persons...
Multiplayer (and this is where the upgrades would be) would be a sort of gameplay loop looter shooter survival pvevp free roam where you go places and do all sorts of different things with teams you build or on your own from idk say a well fortified military run encampment within a large city... Emphasis on free-roam and collection of recources and ordinance.. there are factions within the multiplayer world with different bases that you can choose to support but out in the city it is every squad or man for themselves...
Idea number 2.
take the multiplayer idea and just inject the story into that and make it from a wwii or some other war setting where you can make choices to achieve different experiences....
As far as competitive play goes it is perfectly reasonable to have different arenas that the player can visit to earn glory and rewards for pvp only effort.. I think it is important for CoD to do ANYTHING differently going forward as every new game is literally just the same that we have had gameplay wise... With Warzone being any amount of successful i think that they could do fairly well in making a large free-roam area rarely broken up by loading screens.. the goal is a game worth the normal early 2000s asking price at the end of the day that could set the framework for or be expanded upon..
I am no developer I just dont see the need to continue playing or purchasing new cod games if they never plan to do better than Warzone or BO2...
