Infected & Gun Game Return in Advanced Warfare

In the latest edition of Newsweek, featuring Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, they’ve confirmed with Sledgehammer Games that popular game modes Infected and Gun Game are returning in Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer.

Infected was first introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as a community multiplayer mode, and has become a fan favorite over the years.

Gun Game was first introduced in Black Ops, where players start off with the same weapon and as they get more kills, they earn new weapons.

I used to LOVE playing gun game. forces you to get kills with everythings from pistols to crossbows to rocket launchers. and you could melee to knock people down a level.

Definitely a lot of fun. Forces you to get proficient with everything you can as quickly as possible but still maintains this more laid back change of pace from all the other pew pew game modes.

Thanks for the info. I figure COD: AW would have zombies return, because COD: Ghost extraterrestrial scenario was boring and very limited in gameplay. I've always enjoyed playing zombies with my nephew, and when COD: AW are available to purchase, I'm definitely getting it - of course, I will try out the other part of the game too.

I was never crazy about the gun mode, but I am glad to see infected play return. That was by far the best mini game addition I have seen for the series. Having your own team hunting you after awhile is great and can be hilarious if you have the right players involved. We call it zombie mode and it is my favorite.

I am glad to see infected return, because I enjoyed it in MW3. I remember some great memories from infected, especially in private match. Gun game was pretty fun in Black Ops 2, and I played it a couple times in Ghosts. Hopefully it's as good as it was in BO1.

I am going to spend hours playing that is for sure. I love the gun game, it really gets you pumped. When you fall behind it is so sweet to finally get that kill and get a better gun. Infected is one the strokes of genius they had. It never gets old!

You are right. From now on it shall be known as Arms Race. It could have Fallout Boy theme music... that one where it goes: "It's not a scene, it's a gosh darn arms race!"

I'm satisfied to hear and see that these modes are coming back. Gun game and infected are exciting modes to play. What i never understood is why they were ever taken away the first time, because by the looks of it, all I hear are people requesting returns of these game modes. Infected is my least favorite though, do to the fact that there is Zombies mode that can be replaced.

Advanced Warfare is really pulling me back to the franchise. But I just don't want to be disappointed. If this game has any major problems which I don't know of. Then I will officially leave the franchise.

Having " Infected Games" and "Gun Games" adds another dimension to Call of Duty. The plot thickens. Just when you thought you were toast, you find yourself right back in the game. That's why we play.

Amazing, it seems that they are bringing back a lot of stuff AND adding new mechanics. Maybe this game will be what the franchise needs - something new combined with something old in order to bring something amazing!
