Hackers, cheaters, pc vs console, matchmaking crap....... I am not going to preach to the choir here but instead present my dream.
Hackers cheaters and the rest of the bottom feeding cretins fall into a category of hell that they deserve. We can fix some of that.
pc vs console, yessir we can fix that too.
Matchmaking bullshit is just a snap of the finger away as well.
Very simple but it will never happen. Activision/Microsoft can keep things the way that they are for those who are fine with it being just the way it is. But now, consider this, make it possible, truly possible to separate console players and pc players. It is a simple thing called DEDICATED SERVERS. Yes, I said it out loud. Rent servers to those who truly wish to go back to the old ways which worked so very well. PC players could rent their own servers, admin their own servers and all we had to complain about was gameplay issues. Sure there were hackers and other low lifes in the mix but who gave a shit because a good well run server and admin could calm the waters in seconds. The servers could also be locked to members only. Such a concept moment here, I will take a breath.
If this was to actually happen as in reinvented you could kiss good bye skill based match making, hackers and cheaters and Cronos zen could once again be used in games because it would only be console players hating each other. PC players could stop bitching about trying to find enough keyboard mouse players because that is all that would be allowed in this house party.
This is NOT reinventing the wheel, it has been done in the past and what is old could be new once again. This is only a dream and I realize that it will never become reality again but that will not prevent me from walking down memory lane.
