This game has some of the WORST audio I have ever dealt with

I am not talking about audio QUALITY
I am not talking about the weapon sounds and things like that
I am talking about sound localization
Where the sound comes from, and when it does and doesn't show up

I play Tarkov, which has INFAMOUS audio issues
And even that is NOWHERE near as bad as this game, SPECIFICALLY warzone right now

I can CONFIDENTLY say that the game's audio CONSISTENTLY doesn't work
Example: Teammate goes down, I start reviving behind cover, and then suddenly im being punched to death because the guy sprinted up making NO NOISE
Was on top of a roof, chilling, NOTHING going on, when suddenly im shot in the back, point blank: dude had sprinted up the building, climbed the ladder, all with ZERO noise
Both these examples were VERY early in the match

It happens FAR too often to be excused away with Dead Silence
Hell, ill sometimes even see GUNS making zero noise, despite being RIGHT next to them

To me, audio not working is UNACCEPTABLE
Players have 2 senses to rely on: Sight and Hearing
If one of those senses just doesn't work, a player is immediately HEAVILY handicapped

In regards to Dead Silence
We REALLY need to rethink that ability
NOTHING should completely negate the 2 previous senses mentioned.
Dead Silence, as it is now, in my eyes is the EXACT SAME as if there was an ability to become entirely invisible (denying Sight)
That would be pretty broken, yes?
So is Dead Silence
Completely denying a player one of the two senses he has is NOT good game design

Should it REDUCE noise?
Sure
But 100% quiet on SPRINT?
Hell no

I honestly don't think Dead Silence is that bad.

Dead Silence gives people a reason to loot in this game, its fine the way it is. I do agree this games audio is trash though, but activision are using one of trumps most famous lies, calling it all fake news. Activision should no longer be called a AAA studio.

I think this audio problem is most probably caused by the 1990 era laptops that they are calling "servers" that they are running the game on, as in the sound just never reaches us in time because the servers cannot process it fast enough so just discards it.

In both situations you describe, an enemy was being aggressive and pushing you - this is the perfect time to use Dead Silence if you have it. Especially so when they have downed your teammate and know you'll be trying to revive them while listening for a push. In a game with an ability that completely silences footsteps, you can't simply say the game is broken because you were killed by a guy you couldn't hear coming. It is entirely possibly these instances are Dead Silence.

Also IMO, footsteps are entirely too loud in this game to begin with. Sound-whoring is so easy to do and it just makes camping more viable. If you just sit still and ADS an angle, you can hear enemies moving from like 50 feet away, even if they're "walking". Why are these elite soliders with such good combat training that they can aim accurately while jumping/sliding/falling from the sky, yet they sound like elephants when they run? Wouldn't being able to move fairly quietly be something an elite soldier trains to do?

IMO regular walking should be nearly inaudible - you'd have to be within a few feet to hear it - while crouch walking should be totally silent. Running needs to be toned WAY down. Being able to flank and push enemies without them getting a 15 second audible warning of the direction you're flanking would help alleviate some a lot of the camping and hard-scoping issues. Instead, the second you try to flank someone in a building they immediately know what you're doing and they start ADSing behind them instead.

I agree with you that the sounds need to improve. One minute l don’t hear people running at all and without ds. The next minute it’s like suddenly my hearing is super sonic, l hear an enemy running as fast as he can, I’m like ooh lk someone is coming...er.. quick which way?... now I’m dead!

No consistency!

Not as many people as you may think, use it,
 
Sound localisation is bad and sound in general is inconsistent and should be improved.
But I disagree about dead silence, nothing beats going full ninja.
