What does COD do better than Battlefield?

I know this may be a biased place to ask this, but I figured it was the best place to get the answers from...

I've been a Battlefield player ever since 2005 when BF2 was released, and have played every single release since then. I "was" a PC player, but recently moved to Xbox Series X and decided to get BF 2042, and it just didn't feel right at all. Whether it was the fact that I was now on console, or just the fact that the game itself was terrible, I don't know. One of the biggest issues I found though was that the maps were far too big... I'd be running for ages to get to the action, and then just get shot in the back and have to start a marathon all over again to get back into the action.

This made me consider buying COD, as I read that the maps are smaller (is this right?). I've dabbled in COD once or twice over the years, but never for a long period of time, although now I'm genuinely considering dropping Battlefield and moving to COD instead.

What do you guys feel COD does better than the Battlefield franchise, especially when playing on console? I always thought of COD as more suited to consoles and BF more suited to PCs, so perhaps it's time for me to check COD out now that I'm on console.

I went from Bad Company 2, to BF3 and then BF4, and found as the version numbers got bigger so too did the maps to the point where I was also spending most of the game catching up with the action only to die when I got there.

You can spawn on your team members, but you must pick carefully as you might end up spawning between them and a one hit kill, but you were given choices as to where you would respawn which is something CoD doesn't let you do.

My first CoD was MW3 and this was way better, smaller maps, quicker rounds, a better weapon progression system and a better perspective in terms of the game view, BF games make me feel too small on giant maps, when MW3 got the balance just right.

Unfortunately the CoD games after MW3 were nowhere near as compelling to me, so I didn't touch another BF or CoD game until MW 2019 launched, by which time I had stopped buying any EA games due to the loot box issue and gambling issues, plus some really bad choices in game direction.

I stopped playing when Vanguard launched, but hope to get back into the action when the next MW game hits the shelves.

I'm not saying anything, other than the time I stopped playing was around the time Vanguard launched.

I could have said that I stopped playing at the time I took on my second job, as a point of reference the Vanguard launch is something that more people on here will relate to, care about, and know about.

i think all of you need to grow a pair and get in some vanguard and lets see whatcha got. thats what im talkin about so bring it on

It would be nice to join you, nearly a year in from release, I am sure that the annoying buggy nature of the beta would be far behind us, however, all the improvements in the game still won't fix my lack of time to play.

I just can't commit the time right now.

Cod has always had stupid spawns, you come from BF games where you have to be smart, and play as a team/squad to get that win. try that in cod and someone will spawn behind you because 1 player just speed around to the enemy's spawn, then their spawn moves. so the only tactic is run forward jump slide and shoot. and don't stop. most only play cod to rank up a gun for warzone, only for the meta to change. i wish there was just 5 guns in each category, with gunsmith just for cosmetic changes. and everybody get the use of all skins. i never got a roze skin as i went on holiday for 2 weeks, got back season ended. cod is not a skill based game. its pay to win or take ages unlocking guns playing cod and not warzone. casual players and adults cant spend more and an hour a night playing. i wish EA remade bf2 and 2142 and kept them as is but better engine and graphics.
