My son's Call of Duty day camp was 'horrible'

Hello,

I arranged for my son to attend a camp he wanted to attend called 'Call of Duty' camp. He told me there was loud noise and had to bring his own controller. Because he did not bring one, he was given an older controller.

The Councillors told campers what game mode to play and would yell things like 'GROUND WAR' which would get campers all excited. Apparently one of them had a bunch of piercings in her face and blasted heavy music on the boom box. They also played a game mode called 'Kill confirmed'

My son had never played a Call of Duty game before and could not keep up with everything happening. The camp site also turned into what he called a 'moshpit' with campers hitting each other while councellors yelled 'GROUND WAR' which got a cheer from crowd.

I don't know if I will send my son back. Apparently every kid had their own tv and kids were given chips for snack. I work during the weekend and was dissapointed to hear how bad it was when he got home.

He is not used to playing this game Advanced Warfare because he plays on his wii mostly, but kids told him it's not good to play on that.

Well, your best bet is to get him to like a new console. And buy him that console this Christmas. Wii is a last generation console.

Secondly, your kid needs to keep up with the latest games available. Call of Duty is one of the most popular franchises that's out there. Not a lot of frachises out there, and not a lot of brands can keep a fanbase so engaged.

If I were your kid, I'd be embarrassed. And I think he feels that way. (I feel that it attributed to his experience.) It would be like living under a rock for 5 years not knowing what kids his age is into, walking in blind and not knowing how to be the popular one among them.

On the flipcoin, Call of Duty is a Mature rated title that's revered amongst kids and teenagers these days. It's really, the Mortal Kombat or the Street Fighter of today. Let me put it another way: It's the Star Wars or the Batman or the Spiderman of today.

The Wii's a bit of a joke in the first person shooter community….actually, it's a huge joke.
Tell him to stick with it, like anything else CoD takes time to learn. Just tell him to relax at first, don't worry about his kill/death ratio or his win/loss ratio, just to relax and have fun. Tell him to experiment with different set ups, weapons, perks, classes, all that.

If it makes your son feel better that dosent sound fun to someone whos been playing call of duty for almost a decade.
