well i got my noctua air cooler mounted up and doing good, while gaming cpu doing 72 to 75c idling around 42 to 45 and was hoping for a little better but its better then the idle 57 and gaming 87 i was getting, going to rma nzxt cooler. would like to get lower because before i updated bios my temps were great so im thinking of undervolting this 5800x3d and i heard it really helps without hurting the performance. any thought or info on the undervolting.

I think there should be options in the bios that will help with setting it to the default settings. Remember that overclocking causes the cpu to run hotter so you should see some immediate improvements in your temperatures. AMD has historically run hotter than Intel cpu's.

yes i have it always shows lower temp. its supposed to be pretty accurate. i have to look into it more and learn how to do it.
