After Modern Warfare 3? What's next for Call of Duty?

After Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there has to be another game coming up. What could this be? The most popular military conflict that has been tread upon in a CoD game is World War 2, so a game in that period is probably ruled out. Other military conflicts that could be made into the next game could be the Korean War, the Vietnam War, or even, if the government allows, a story illustrating the SEALs assassination of Bin Laden, but with this idea, not only would this game include the killing of Bin Laden himself, but how each of the individual members of the team did and experienced to get to this position on the SEALs team and how they met. Any other ideas for a new game?

Probably just w**re ww2 out some more. The MW series is off in it's own made up war, perhaps they will just end up doing that in the ww2 games. *yawn* I'm tired of ww2...

The Task Force 141 guys weren't even in that team before Modern Warfare 2, I think their skills as Marines prompted the president to move them into Task Force 141 which allowed them to get closer to Shepherd, and then by large, Makarov. I do understand that Shepherd set them up - which means he allowed them to get close to Shepherd in the first place. So, their presence in the cases involved in MW, and MW2 put them in the shuffle for selection of taking down Makarov.

Probably re-release Black Ops but with all the fixes and new maps/guns. Oh wait, they just did that with MW2!!!

Why not like a black ops 2. Or a COD game where your a marine. So like you can fly jets, Drive boats and have anvanced weapons or something

On one hand, that would be a great idea, but also a bad idea. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, but to me, all that seems unnecessary. Battlefield 3 has all this and then more, I never played the full game with the tanks, jets, boats, and whatnot.

I have played a few Battlefield games. BF1943, and BFBC2... BF3 from the beta, felt like a mix between BF1943, and BFBC2, it has it's pros and cons. All in all, I felt that EA tried too much at once.

And, I feel that IW/SG wanted to go back to the simple COD4 infantry style shooter.

I think, that after the success of BF3, Activision is going to want something like BF3 with the next Call of Duty game.

is this suggesting that BF does a better job than cod with those certain things. Well like what about a cod game where you get to play as the Bad guys. see it as how they saw it and all that

well why not show the game through the eyes of your npc team mates i mean for eg in black ops in the vitnameese village where Mason nd Swift are in that underground tunnel woods and bowman are off fighting to get to a chopper and rescue Mason

I'm sorry but did you yawn at black ops? Because it has revonlutionised some of the ways we play online and of course it has one of the greates modes ever ZOMBIES!!!!

There is a rumour going around that the next Call of Duty shall be named: Call of Duty: Iron Wolf

This rumour supposedly originated from a member of Treyarchs' Xbox live profile. Someone had him as a friend and took pictures of his profile which stated he was Online and playing Call of Duty: Iron Wolf, Team Deathmatch on "Unknown Map"...

People are saying that this was an early version of the game being tested out by the member of Treyarch...

There is evidence to suggest that this is true but no-one knows for sure...

Well because most people buy call of duty for the storyline and if the same game was released just from a different characters perspective, then the sales would plummet... IW and Treyarch have been fighting over who makes the best CoD games for years and if they do what you just suggested, they've basically just waved a white flag in Infinity Wards' face :/

There will be NO more WWII CoDs :) they've realised everyone is bored of it now...
