Advanced Warfare survey hints at beta, Nuketown, upgrade & more

One of the best ways to figure out what a company is planning to do for pre-order bonuses is to make sure you're on their survey list. A survey recently went out to a handful of gamers, and some rather interesting information was discovered.

Most notably would be a Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare beta, as well as early access to the game's multiplayer if you pre-ordered. Keep in mind that these are just survey options at the moment, but it seems that Activision & Sledgehammer Games are heavily considering them as real bonuses.

Here's the list below:

• Potential Incentive -Free Upgrade to Next-Gen console copy (i.e if you buy a copy of the game for PS3/Xbox360 you will be able to easily upgrade, for free, to the PS4/Xbox One version once you get the new console.

• Potential Incentive - Beta Access (i.e. be able to play an exclusive beta version of the game for a limited time before release).

• Potential Incentive -Nuketown Exo (i.e. play the classic Call of Duty map with new Exo suite abilities featured in Advanced Warfare.

• Existing incentive -Advanced Warfare Personalization Pack for use in Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

• Potential incentive -All new, bonus multiplayer map designed for Advanced Warfare and Exo suite abilities.

• Potential incentive -Early Access (i.e. be able to fully play multiplayer 48 hours before the game’s official release. All stats, unlock, etc. would transfer over once the game releases to the general market).

Nuketown seems to be the map that is always up for consideration, but I'd personally like to see Call of Duty move past it. The ability to upgrade your copy to a XB1 or PS4 version is nice, but I don't think it'll have nearly the adoption rate that last year did.

I'd personally love to see the multiplayer early access and beta be pre-order bonuses, but it'll depend on what the users who received the survey vote. Did you receive the survey? What did (or would) you vote for?

Although the other options are very appealing to me, I wouldn't be for a beta.

There's just something about that release day that I love; when everybody skives school and work to jump on the new COD. All players are fresh to the game, learning together. If there was a beta I feel this atmosphere would be lost, with some players already knowing quite a bit about the game and the feel of it.

The same goes for an early multiplayer option, obviously.

A beta gives some polish to the game though so you're not dealing with all the patches and fixes that will be necessary with a large release like this.

Yeah, if a beta means we'll have a smoother launch.. then I'm all for it!

Pretty much this. I've played games that had a ton of hype but failed miserably because of terrible launch issues and glitches. Even though there's no beta, I hope that Advanced Warfare blows me away on November 4th!
