Cargo Strategy

One map I've always had a bit of difficulty on is Cargo. I do tend to play run and gun style with shotguns. Has anyone found any particular strategies or map traffic patterns that work especially well here? I keep trying to exploit that hall way from "c" to the stealth platform, but the rest of the level is just open and grim for close quarters combat players. I feel like there must be a way.

First thing I do is slap on either the FAL or the M8A1. From the spawn, I go along the outside map opposite of the building (so the side that has that slanted cargo container) and hang out way on the outside and pick off any stragglers. From there, I just stay on the outsides of the map and keep tabs on my teammates and from that assume where everybody else is (either up in the cargo container areas or that building. I run UAV and I've found the Stealth Chopper to be useful. It's nice and open and the chopper goes to work, and when it is up, I rush around a bit more since people are either hiding or being gunned down in the open.

Pretty much just stay on the outskirts and go in circles. It's a more passive gameplay and I've found it useful. With all the levels, angles and everything, I don't like to be too rushy.

pffffffft your all nuts. The map is crazy and I gotta think about 2 times when this map was ever hard to get 300+ headshots. READ ON.
You gotta be a 1 man army and destroy the whole army. MOST PEOPLE DONT WANT TO BE AMAZING. They just want to idly pass some time while their mom is busy getting hot pockets ready for your lazy A$$. Anywhooooo. Just rush the opposing team's spawn. Bust caps. p90s

Hey I'm sorry everyone. I completely flaked. I wasn't looking for strategies for Cargo. I'm pretty op there with a variety of loadouts. I meant Carrier. Ha!

Carrier is where I tend to really get messed up because of all the open space and there being very little secluded pathways across the map. I do have fun in th hallway with a shotgun but beyond that, I'm usually easy pickings. Especially when those rotten snipers camp on top of the jets, I HATE THAT.

Well a good tactic is to try and avoid open areas try and get to that building ( the only one in the map ) secure it and depending what objective it should be pretty easy to hold down. I would recommend a sub machine gun any of your choice but assault rifles are ok aswell i guess

The only strategy on Carrier is to find a corner and camp. There just isn't a way that allows for good results while trying to chase down the enemy. Avoid the topdeck like the plague and sit in the lower areas. If you have an ounce of sniping ability you can try the upper deck, but it's always hell.

For Carrier, just run round with an SMG. That's all I can advise haha. The map is pretty hectic and sometimes all you can do is fight fire with fire :P

Well if you're big on your run and gun with shotguns, stick to the hallway you already mentioned and that entire area. If you don't already have it on, get claymores and scavenger and post em to the tight corners on the doorways. After you pick a couple of people off, they're going to come looking for you so walk up those stairs between dom C and the jet and curve your way to the enemy side (snipers are easy pickings on the right, or dropping down and walking around the far edge of the map if you turn left typically works). It's kind of a bust map for shotguns because of how open it is, but really it's a bust map for just about every weapon class, I've found. Snipers are easy to take down because they're so exposed from the back side, SMGs and shotguns get wrecked as soon as they're out in the open cause they lack range. Assault rifles and LMGs are your best bet.
