GA-B85M-Gaming 3 RAM UPGRADE

I am helping a friend upgrade his GigaByte Motherboard.. Yea, I know.. The blind leading the blind..

He has only 2 slots and they have 2 F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL sticks which total 8GB of RAM.. He wants to update to 32GB RAM....

I have had the worst luck buying RAM for my own use. Always seem to get the wrong kind.. So I was hoping for some help choosing the right ram for this guy...

It looks like the most he will be able to add is a 16GB kit (2*8GB).

If you have access to the manual look at the QVL (Qualified Vendor List) to see what RAM was tested with the motherboard, if you want peace of mind and an easy upgrade then don't use anything that's not listed there.

Or use sites like Crucial where you can enter your mobo details and they will list RAM that will work with it, like in this link:
