Hardware Mods?

Does anyone mod their controller or console? I have a friend who has a paperclip in his controller in the trigger to shoot faster. Personally I think it is unethical but I guess that's the individuals choice.

I've tried a controller like the one you mentioned, my brother owns ones. I always felt kind of cheap whenever I used it, plus the amount of messages that followed after using it in a lobby was insane.

Honestly I think it's cheating. Doing things like that gives you a huge advantage on consoles. Plus, it ruins the game for other people. Since COD has such little recoil, speeding up your shooting like that can get you a ridiculous amount of kills easily.

I agree with both of these notions. I remember using one once and I didn't even like how fast I was shooting with it. Cheating aside, I just didn't enjoy the speed, It needs to feel like more of a real rate of fire for me. Cheating involved, yes, I think it's a very unfair advantage.

One of my friends did something similar to this. I think he had an autofire modded controller. It seems unlegit to do this. Ruins the fun of actually doing something, but some people don't like working!

Modifying anything in order to play better is a little cheap in my opinion. I tried the paper clip once, but ended up just not liking it and I actually played better without my controller modified. It's pretty obvious when someone is doing this exploit though and I think it's an unfair advantage. This is why I think the mouse and keyboard are better because unfair advantages like this don't really exist, unless you consider having a mouse with loads of extra buttons to be cheap.

The idea of cheating in a game like that is kinda dumb to me. Why even play? What do you get out of it? Yeh you get more kills, but you know you cheated to do so; so how is that gratifying? I guess to some that does not matter. But I enjoy winning, and knowing that my opponent had a chance and could not take advantage of it due to the fact I was just better (LOL), gives me more satisfaction.

But to each his own... Now modding xbox to play copied games............... O, I mean, that is just wrong too....

This is also an interesting idea. Does anyone think it's an unfair advantage for people to use a mouse that is more designed for gaming and has extra features? Or a more specialized keyboard for that matter?

I honestly don't think so. "gaming" mouses don't make the biggest difference and will never replace actual skill. There's really nothing wrong though, with getting specialized equipment to give you that small extra edge.
