I have to set up an 18GB Hard Drive setup for my KODI/LINUX server...

But I remember just enough of LINUX to be dangerous.. Anyone answer some basic setup questions??

I thought about trying Linux some years ago and gave up on the idea because I couldn't work out which version I wanted to go with.

I haven't been heavy into LINUX since FEDORA...

LibreElec has a forum, but they don't tolerate stoopid questions as much as ya'all do here.. hehe

I have no basic knowledge of how to set up Linux, but most distributions behave similarly. It's open source, so it doesn't really matter which distro you use, as long as you know the pros and cons of the distro. The most popular distro on the market is ubuntu. I see it all the time on server ordering pages.

This server is powered by Linux. I'm flexing, but a friend of mine suggested Linux. I would never fucking put my server on a Windows distribution environment. Ever. So, alternatives are good.

There's a Windows-Linux server, but I would never touch that. Hackers actually like Linux so much, they use it for their own private networks. That's my understanding.

Yea, I am using LibreElec simply because it comes with KODI which is what I use for our VIDEO SERVER..

I am getting on some BASIC LINUX forums.. The commands I need to relearn are all standard thru the flavors.. How to Format a drive, how to make sure it's clean.. etc etc etc..
