New Broadband

PC Gamer: Nearly Dangerous
Finally, I am catching up with broadband technology, and look at it go:

New Home Broadband Speednet Test 26.06.2023.jpg

My upload speed is almost as fast as I used to get for my download speed.

I'm about to start my third job, while 2 are zero hour contracts, I seem to enjoy keeping myself busy at the moment.

I do feel that I don't have time for gaming, I don't miss it that right now, it's too hot in my man-cave to play games as the heat from my rig will cook me alive.

I did download a couple of films to my phone as I'm away on a job for a couple of days. Each film downloaded so quickly that I didn't have time to go to the screen just to watch the progress bar.

When the weather cools down then I might get back in to things, there might even be a new CoD by then, so far the last 3 releases have not inspired me to want to play.

It's not the games themselves, it is more the tedious update routine.

I get that it will take less time now, but I find that after the update I still have to wait for ages for the game to download the shader optimizations. That means when I have a half hour to play my full time for playing is taken up with updates and I'm shutting my PC down before joining a map.

I am still checking on here to keep in touch though, so I haven't given up on you fine people.

Just be glad you're busy. Not a lot of people can say that. Even then, you'd be pissed off with Call of Duty's stupid updates. Nothin' but glitches.

That's fast internet, BTW! :)

I am running with a wireless adapter, it will be faster once I have sorted a wired connection, my promised minimum speed is 425Mbps.

I wouldn't be alone, it does seem like a lot of prominent streamers are moving to other games and even switching over to open beta games, these are people that might have one day been considered brand ambassadors and now they are just gone, or at least have now moved on.

Dang my man cave is freezing me out right now its been between 50 and 61 degrees the last 3 weeks.
Trade? y/n.... Maybe not, I'd miss my family.

Mine at home is like 800 ish down 30 ish up on xfinity gig plus
the wifes fiber is 900's up and down

I just downloaded a 535mb nVidia driver, it took about 30-35 seconds, the progress bar went up by massive chunks, and then it once it filled up, it took about 15 seconds to verify the download, it would be 20 seconds if you don't count that delay for verification at the end.

using internetspeed .com mine is
507.40 dl
200.11 up
9 ms latency
That's fast, I could have gone up to 900Mbps, but that would have cost more, I went to the ISP that is supplying our broadband and said that I can get higher speeds for less money than I am getting from them and I want to leave, they said that they have just introduced this new package, so now I pay 30% less and get 500% faster, I would have left them anyway, but it is 3 more months till I can end my contract, but they were happy to upgrade me at the lower price rather than lose me in 3 months.

Part of her job requires her to webcast and MS teams online host up to 50 or 60 people for online training and she needs that kind of room for broadband. More so for the up than the down and well Xfinity gig plus does not give her a lot of wriggle room but it does and will work in a pinch for a back up.

So thats why we have duel service at the house. I have tried gaming on her fiber at night when she is not using it and well the latency for xfinity is actually better.
