Off the Radar and/or Silencer?

This is more of a general COD question...but...I really, really like playing stealthy. The "Off the Radar" perk makes you invisible to UAV. But, will I still be invisible when I shoot? OR does that perk just keep me invisible to UAV when I'm running around? If I NEVER want to show up on the map, do I also need to run a weapon with a silencer?

I've never been able to fully determine this on any COD game. Call me a n00b or dense or just an idiot...but I'd love it if anyone could bring me some clarification on this issue, please.

Which game were you playing recently? The "Off the Radar" perk(s) in Call of Duty games have different names. But in general, what they do is keep you off the radar from certain things, like those killstreaks.

To truly stay off the radar - at all times, it has always been the silencer that you equip to your weapons.

well a silencer keeps you off the radar when you shoot yes, but if you don't have "Ghost" "Off the grid" or whatever the perk that hides you from the UAV, then yes you can still be seen by the UAV, if there is one called in of course.

in MW3 what I did was get "Assassin" which hid me from UAV, EMP, ECT and also used it with "Cold Blooded" I forgot what Cold blooded did but it was REALLY cheap. lol
