Greetings, Devil Dog! Welcome to the Call of Duty Forums. It looks like you're looking forward to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, but haven't created an account yet. Why not take a minute to I really enjoy participating in this and other COD communities. I particularly enjoy the different perspectives that are brought forth by those who openly share their opinions and views.
Having said that, I have to say that I have very little bad to say about this newest version of the game. I really only play during the winter months as I drive trucks for 7 or so months a year but due to the nature of the job we don't work during the winter. Thus, the release schedule for games matches with my release from work every year. I openly agree that there are still lots of things that need to be done to meet the expectations of those who buy and support the franchise. Herein lies the problem in my humble opinion. There are so many faces to this release that caters to the varied tastes of the players. For me I tend to only play Quick Start and then Invasion. Both play and run very well so in my mind and in my personal gaming needs I am a happy and content individual. There are many others who prefer some of the other offerings and that is great too. I like that no matter what flavour of this game that you prefer it is good to see that people will raise their concerns with issues and raise their voices when need be.
In another thread here today there was mention that there could very well be a new release in the Fall of 2023. I'm fine with that and will most likely buy it. I feel that for the most part my money has been well spent and I have been entertained with those dollars spent. When I compare MW2 to lets say the latest Battlefield release I would have to say that Dice and EA have shown just how bad a game release can be and how to continually patch it into the hot mess that it continues to be up to today. By comparison MW2 has been, again in my opinion, a very polished release when you compare it to other recent releases. If I was pressed to state which game release has impressed me the most with a similar or better dose of polish it might surprise you to hear that Ubisoft has my vote with not only The Division but surprisingly The Division 2 also.
I guess that it all comes down to "Perspective". Perspective = opinion to me and I really enjoy that there are outlets such as here to share those opinions on games. At the end of the day it comes down to how you as an individual feels about any specific game. For me, I hated the way that Battlefield 2042 played out and at this time I am quite comfortable in stating that a lot will have to be done by EA and Dice to make me a customer again. Activision can release every year if they like and I will look at what is being offered. At this time I am happy with MW2 in all aspects so that could have a real bearing on my decisions in the future.
I do wish more would share their perspectives and complaints but my thanks to all those who have shared and continue to do so. Entertainment does not have to be purchased when it is offered up for free in online communities.
