PS3 Slim unveiled at Gamescom!

Its finally here, there have been months of speculation - recent price drops on the PS3 but no official announcements from Sony. But today the rumours have been confirmed, the PS3 Slim is on its way.

Putting months and months of rampant rumours to bed, Sony has finally coughed up the goods on a new slim-line PS3.

Revealed at Sony's Gamescom press conference currently underway in Germany, the new SKU will launch on the first week of September worldwide for 299 Euros and $299 in the States. To confirm the UK price for PS3 slim is £249.99 while PSP Go is £224.99.

PlayStation boss Kaz Hirai said the PS3 Slim is 30 percent lighter, 32 percent smaller and uses 34 percent less power than the current console.
