Zombies Terminus

Playing Zombies split screen. At the point prior to the final boss in Terminus we get to the keypad on the door. One of us engaged the door by holding x (Xbox). The message then comes up for the second person to accept. However, the end of the message is partly obscured due to split screen. Have tried holding x and every other button to accept with no success, anyone solved this issue?
