I see no unsubscribe link in the e-mail that brought me here (which, I believe, is illegal in the EU).
How can I stop receiving advertising e-mails from the website staff?
I'm in preferences.Good thing I don't live in EU.
Go to the upper right corner, where it shows your username, a dropdown will come up... Look for Preferences.
I only send these kinds of e-mails once a year. Only once a year. Sometimes two, but normally only for important stuff. But that isn't an advertisement. You're registered, I'm not really advertising to you if you are not interested in participating in the contest. This is me extending the courtesy of allowing YOU to win the game.
Hey, don't want to participate? Ignore it then.
I looked around to see what you want. I think this is what you want:I'm in preferences.
Now what?
"Receive site mailings - You will receive a copy of emails sent by the administrator to all members of the site."I looked around to see what you want. I think this is what you want:

I would also look into the other options so we don't have to come back to this conversation again...
As administrator, I opted to e-mail even the person who clicked this. This means, EVERYONE got the same e-mail. Except for banned. I wanted more players to participate in the contest. I wanted more eyes on the contest. I wanted everyone to come back and post. That was the point.
You, however took it as "advertisement." There already a lot of excitement towards the contest. You're the only one who didn't want to participate.
...As I said, I bypassed that."Receive site mailings - You will receive a copy of emails sent by the administrator to all members of the site."
I already have that option disabled...
Well that's against the wishes of your forum members....As I said, I bypassed that.
