Black ops Cold War warzone?

I was under the impression that Warzone would continue but would switch over to the Black Ops dev team, using the Black Ops engine and coding etc... But your post makes it seem like you're surprised by this news.

Warzone will continue to evolve after the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, interweaving some of Black Ops Cold War’s themes, weapons, and operators into this blockbuster free-to-play Battle Royale experience.

I know just what you mean, plunder is more fun and you get respawns in that.

I think that the last time I checked Warzone has over 75-million players and growing, I can't see Activision turning away from that user base.

From what's been speculated, the whole experience will become "Cold War" Warzone. They've been hyping up a nuke event. A live event like the one we just had when Cold War was revealed. And to be fair, Fortnite did a similar thing by moving the game from Fortnite to Fortnite "water."

Same way they put Cold War weapons? If you finished the missions in the Cold War teaser live event, you would receive this sniper. Let me find it... [EDIT: Here...]

At the rate Warzone is going, it's going to be it's own entity. I don't think Cold War will necessarily have its own BR-style game-mode, but as said before I think they will develop it and make additions to it that feature CW weapons/maps? Not sure.

It's all up in the air till release (and maybe a month/2 months after)? Who knows.

you are correct it is much different, its totally different. warzone is just gonna get the operators,and weapons ect not the game mechanics of blackops engine. that would mean totally recoding the server game/clent base.

Maybe this can shed some light.

I am currently playing the cross-play beta right now and the "Dirty Bomb" game-mode has an item drop and pickup feature like Warzone (or any battle royal) type mode. As well as a resurrection/last stand feature where you can revive your teammates.

Something to think about!
