Safe to Play?

Is this game safe to play on XBox Live? I don't want my Gamertag or console to be ruined because of accidentally getting into a modded lobby. I don't generally accept invites, but would that really keep me safe? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's not safe to anyone. I was just on COD4 on PS3 a few weeks before BO2 came out and there's a lot of hacking.

I just jumped into a public game, and voila, a cheater with a night-scope.

MW2 is obviously flooded with hacking. But Black Ops is okay to play, at least from the last time I played it. MW3 is also "okay." There's some hacking, but not as much as MW2 or COD4.

Thanks. It's been so long since I've played online... before the hacking got so bad... and I finally have a Live subscription. CoD4 was one of my favorite games and was really the game that got me into online play. Sad to see what's happened to it.

What are the worst hacks in MW2 & MW3? De ranking a serious problem?

COD4 - Easily deranked, lots of hacking
WAW - Easily deranked, lots of hacking
MW2 - Easily deranked, lots of hacking
BO - Some hacking, derank can happen at some point
MW3 - Sparse hacking, lag compensation (although lagswitching can happen), and at some point derank can happen
Some think that Spawn Trapping isn't cheating, but it is. It's in MW3 in large scale.
BO2 - Prestige glitching is the norm. Spawn Trapping is in, but not as bad as MW3 in some modes, some people say that spawns suck in some modes such as FFA.

Your best bet? Either BO or MW3.

Being deranked doesn't stop you from playing the game, but if you worked your ass off to get to prestige 10 (COD4 and up) or 15 (MW3 and up) or 20 (BO2 and up), I'd be pissed if someone deranks me. Some idiot did it to me in COD4, and I got really mad enough to report the stupid moron to Sony/Activision.

Thanks for the info. I've heard of people not be able to play online after it happening, but I guess that's just certain match types? Anyway, I guess I will try to stick to the newer games then. I really hate hackers.

You couldn't play in the same session, but a simple reset of your console will fix the problem.

Yes. That has been my experience on PS3.

That's because the person isn't behind a secure router. The only way a person gets access to your MSP's are a few ways, one of them is phishing sites. The other way is a forward port, which is not really a good connection; you need a WPA standard to transmit your information securely through a router.

Your broadband connection is just that; a connection. Your router is the one that's networking your computer to your broadband modem. Look for a router with WPA/WEP standard. That locks down your network to just you, not your neighbors, or extended network. WiFi is just a [antenna] hotspot, so that's why most people get "hacked" easily with MS Points.

That's what I meant by transmitting your information securely.
