Defective game or defective user

First some info. I'm old and don't know what I'm doing most of the time. I bought COD Black Ops collection. so my wife and I could play as "couch Coop". So far out of three games we've only manged to access the zombie fight in version 2. But it gets worse, when logged in as a single player, I've tried all three games and I never encounter any enemies to shoot at or who are shooting at me. I just walk around and nothing happens. I can't help but think this is something stupid I just did but I'd really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance to anyone who would be willing to give me some info.

Snipers. Alright, while the game can be a little dry and lack excitement, try out cold war. There are always people on there or zombies to kill. Also, the sniper guns are really powerful. I have an article I wrote on snipers if you are interested.

I'd love to read the article. We are very frustrated with the descriptions of most everything we've bought. Seems like we spend a lot of money on what we think is for us, only to find out it isn't. We've been playing Rainbow Six Vegas and Vegas 2. We area team working to defeat a common enemy, like COD Black Ops II Zombies. But when I try to play other parts of the game, other than zombies, I never encounter anybody. I wandered around for 30 minutes just to see. Nobody...nothing...
