How Do I Create An Official Clan?

HONEYBUEGR

Recruit
i just wanted to know how to create a clan, we have been looking and cant figure it out, we are on the ps4 hit me up if you find anything thanks. :)

There is no in game clan feature for Black Ops 3. You have to do it outside of the game with your own resources. For example.. we built this website.. www.truetalentgaming.com and told people we are recruiting for this game. Exchange PSN names, send each other invites and boom, you have a clan.

You need a good domain name for a clan.
You need a server.
You need a forum software to be hosted on your server.

But if you want to go the "newbie" way... Free Forum sites like Forumotion is the way to go. However, in my experience, people don't take clans that are hosted on "free forum" sites too seriously. You will have a hard sell in your hands.

^^Hosted on forumotion... jus' sayin.
I thought it was a bad idea to go from vBulletin to free forum solution like that. I would have jumped from vB to xenForo on my own server.

However, that's just me. Other people might think "it's not a big deal" but some people generally don't like free-forum sites, or clans that are hosted on them. Just what I know.

It's that whole "Put your money where your mouth is" when it comes to clans, teams, pro teams, or eSports teams. You want to be taken seriously.

Easiest way
Pay ~$18 for a URL you like. use wordpres to create website front end for info / recruitment stuff (and videos, any articles you want to write etc). we still use facebook as the clan meeting place. It's easy, 99% of people already have it and the messaging and group options are well integrated with mobile technology

Forums are dying. It's a waste of money to invest in them... especially for a clan. Social media is the future for clans.

We have the EXACT same thing through a free option. Our web developer spoofed the entire site and everything looks the same and we have the same URL, nothing has changed other than we are...

Lol. yup totally agree. we did have a forum set up but it was reliably dead, whereas our FB groups have members posting most of the time and a great community spirit.

With the %of people who have facebook these days, and the ease of creating groups etc. and the integrated messaging, It's really the best option

I will work on a better Social Media platform for clans somewhere in the road as C.E.O. Ejin is nice, but it doesn't seem to fullfill that feature set that's required for a clan. I disagree that forums are dying in any sense of the word. Most clans are "private" so they don't really grow. Yours was private to a point. You needed to open the forums a bit more. You needed SEO to bring traffic in.

BO3Forums is proof that clans in general aren't even dead. In fact, both CODForums and BO3Forums THRIVE on clans. For a new site, BO3Forums is doing SUPERB. Every day, it's growing. And I'm not even spending that much money to grow the community. It's the highest ranking BO3 Forum in the world today.

Awesome.

This is nice and all, but how are you going to grow beyond that group?

All you needed to do was to advertise the clan through posting links to the page. Go to my BO3Forums page and learn from me. There's a reason why BO3Forums is attracting 100k pageviews worldwide.

And let me tell you, every page COUNTS.

befor bo3 i never had a website for the clan i was in previously to the one im in now.just used the ingame roster with clan tag.

The thing is... how much discussion is going on in here that ISN'T clan recruitment. I notice a lot don't even have websites and a lot only have a Twitter.

I'm not sure what you mean bud by how do we grow beyond the group?

the facebook groups can take thousands of people. we're not looking to ever get that big

As much as I hate to admit it: You do bring up a good point. :(

You're the 1% of the clans that @I AM IK0N and I are talking about. Most clans want to get really big. I've seen a [clan] forum that has TWO separate vBulletin licenses JUST to the clan itself. Each license is for a console, like Xbox and PlayStation. And likewise, each database has THOUSANDS of members on them. I don't know how the owner does the upkeep or even the marketing. You'd need hundreds of thousands of dollars in server upkeep, and license renewals. It's crazy.

From my experience, most clans don't want to get REALLY big. Most people want to join a clan to have at least some other people to play with on their respective game. There isn't that family/friend type feel with huge clans (like TG, KSI, etc).

The benefit of the larger clans (the ones with the no "family" atmosphere) is that no matter what time of the day you're playing a game like Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, you'll have people to meet up or party up with on XBL, and PSN. On CODForums, I've seen a large percentage of clans that really want to get really big, like I said... they even go so far to spam the forums with recruitment threads or bumps. It happens here too, but I've contained it as much as I can.

All I am saying is that most clans want to get big. It's just that the really, really big clans has a lot of ambition. Those pro teams on track to or on championship tournaments get there because they have the community like those really, really big clans. Usually the big clans go onto becoming champions at some point. I could go on and on about this, but in general, most clans want to get big so they can meet, party, and compete with other players (fellow comrades).

Most competitive teams only have those on their roster that compete and are constantly cycling and getting rid of people.
