Need Advice on One-Handed Gaming Setups – Xbox Gamer with Left Arm Amputation

Hey everyone,

After a long break since the Xbox 360 days, I'm reaching out for some advice on one-handed gaming setups. A generation and an arm later, I'm getting back into gaming. I lost my left arm in 2017, and it's been quite a journey adapting to this new reality.

A little about my situation: I've got a slightly above-the-elbow amputation on my left arm. Currently, I'm using a regular Xbox controller. I've modded it so that I can move the left analog stick with my left amputation, use the right trigger for aiming, and the right bumper (RB) for shooting. Running is done by pressing the right analog stick, but unfortunately, features like grenades are tough to use as they require more time and often result in me being KO'd.

I can play, but it's not the same as back in the two-handed days, you know?

My main question is:

Is there a way to configure a mouse to handle walking movement (left, right, up, down - typically left analog stick or keyboard functions)?

Like, can the movement be mapped to the mouse along with the standard aiming functionality?

Or is there a specialized controller that might work better for my situation?

I'm open to any and all suggestions, really just looking to get back into gaming with as much capability as possible.

Thanks in advance for your help!

There is *some support* out there for your situation!
Firstly, foot pedals, or boards if you will.
Secondly, MOBA mice i.e. Corsairs scimitar with multiple buttons in thumb position.
Thrice, button remappers are very nice, but beware some games *ahem* COD will very likely ban you.

I'm in a very similar situation to you since a high-speed motorcycle head-on accident. Paralyzed left arm from it.
HMU on Discord, I'd be obliged to more quickly help!
