OK, I just gotta vent..
If you make a decision to be a sniper (AKA "camper") in MW2019, there is an etiquette one should follow..
1. Don't intrude on another sniper's spot...
If someone is sniping in your favorite spot, don't stick yer ass in his (or her) face and try to take it over... Show some class!! There are ALWAYS different zones of fire that can be covered.. If you see a teammate on one side of the sniper nest, take the other side.. If ya'all are on comms, then tell him "I got LEFT" or "I got RIGHT".... Be vigilant of their side, however.. You might need to give some back up.. If yer a better shot and get the kill?? Well, at least yer both still alive...
If the teammate is killed, you are free to take over his or her spot.. If you are the one killed and returning to the nest, don't think your spot is yours.. You lost it, your teammate gets it..
Comms are a MUST for a sniper team... If ya got 'em.. USE 'em... If ya DON'T got 'em... GET 'em...
In some maps there is an opposing sniper nest.. One sniper team member should act as counter-sniper at ALL times.. It's embarrassing for a sniper to be picked off by another sniper..
Defend your nest!! If it's just you, you have 2 explosives.. I prefer Bouncing Bettys because they are more easily hide-able but claymores have the advantage of directed blast.. I oft times get blowed up by my own BB, but I take the enemy with me..
If yer a team of 2 snipers, you can cover 4 access paths to yer backs... Protect yer nest!! Nothing cuts short a snipe-fest faster than a bullet to the back of the head.. Or even MORE embarrassing, a finishing move... ACK!!!
As for the rest of ya'all... Don't hate on snipers. We're just doing what we do best.. Granted, we don't get the most kills, but for me personally?? I look at the deaths column... If I have 4 paltry kills but ZERO deaths, I count that as a win x4..
While the goal is to kill, the goal is ALSO to survive..
And just a general gripe..
Would it be possible for the coders to put in a graphic when choosing your weapon's sight?? So you can see what the sight looks like in a real world mission critical arena... It's a pain in the arse to choose a sight and thinking "OK let's see what THIS ONE looks like.." and then discover it is completely un-suitable.. I prefer the thermal type sites, but also want a large scope area... Give us an idea of what we'll be looking thru so we don't have to resort to trial and error...
