Greetings, Devil Dog! Welcome to the Call of Duty Forums. It looks like you're looking forward to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, but haven't created an account yet. Why not take a minute to Or at least made half-way sensible? I can’t play the game at all because it won’t allow prepaid phone numbers. Hypothetically this is either to protect the community from me or me from the community.
But I only want to play the campaign, so how exactly does this do either? If the goal is to protect me from the community by being able to ban cheaters, exactly how does this protect me from a community I will never see as I play through the campaign?
I guess by preventing me from playing the game entirely, I definitely am protected against any ne’er-do-well’ers, sure, but why does this check need to prevent me from playing the game entirely rather than just from playing online? Or did I miss the way to play the campaign without adding a phone number while I had it installed prior to getting my refund?
The best course of action would be to remove this check entirely (because wow, seriously, I can’t play a game because of the phone number I have?), but pending that it should at least be made sensible by blocking online play rather than all play.
Or is there a way to play the campaign without having it accept my phone number?
