Worst game of the series?

I think Modern Warfare 3 was the worst, the storyline just got muddled all over the place and it felt like they kept killing off characters purely for the sake of killing someone.

I thought BO2 was the best of the CoDs I've played. I also really like the first game also. BO2 was the first was the first CoD where I can honestly say that I liked every single campaign mission. I liked most of them in BO, about half in WaW, and very few of the Modern Warfare series. Why? Well, the games that used history in their campaigns are much more fun to me. When the designers can draw upon real events, people, and locations, they have great material to work with. As a result, the history-inspired games are really well done.

Yes, the games can be cliche and over-the-top, but that is passable I think. The multiplayer in BO2 is probably the worst aspect. I often call the multiplayer "Death From Above." Seriously, every kill-streak it seems gives people something to launch from the air or from space. Really annoying. The zombies is better, though, in that we are starting to get more interesting maps and ones that will take place all over the world. (Hopefully they fill up most of that globe in zombies.) BO2 has a lot of flaws but also does a lot of good stuff that i think it makes up for its weaknesses.

Worst game in CoD is probably MW3. That was just such an unneeded mess that I don't even know where to start...

Yes, I think it is. They've really taken it too far with rehashing the old game and creating a new title for it.

It's ridiculous but it's business. Can't fight something I won't make a dent in.

The game is ok. I mean all the latest CoD games are pretty equal and this doesn't differ but it's still a tiny update and some good contents. But they better update the engine and graphics soon because yeah.. obvious reasons.

I don't have any problems with the campaign, actually. I thought the story was pretty well-written, and that the fact that the campaign results can diverge is an interesting development considering CoD's linearity.

Multiplayer, on the other hand, is a bit lacking. Maybe it's because I'm used to the gigantic servers on Battlefield 3, but Black Ops 2 felt really small and confined in comparison.

Eh, I hate to say it, but it probably is. It was pretty good the first 20 hours or so of playing, but then it gets boring. Even playing for fun, it's just not fun for some reason. In all the other previous CODs, I had a bunch of fun playing, it doesn't matter if I was trying to get Gold camos or messing around a riot shield. It just didn't stick like the earlier CODs did.

Black Ops 2 for me. It just became so monotone and boring by that time that I couldn't get myself to keep playing. It's not necessarily a bad game, it's just the worst CoD game for me.

Black Ops 2 multiplayer is one of my least favorite in the series. I really liked the time period from the first Black Ops and it would have been nice if the sequel stuck with that. Overall I felt the maps to be lacking (nothing as great as Firing Range, Nuketown, WMD, Summit, so on) and the guns were lame as well. Nothing is as bad as zombies though. I hated the lava but even if they got rid of that the maps still wouldn't be good.

This game was probably the most disappointing game I've ever played. Well, actually Duke Nukem Forever tops the list but this is a high second!

The multiplayer just doesn't do it for me with this game.

Haha, every current Call of Duty is the "worst Call of Duty" ever. Honestly man, from your post, it seems like you simply dislike the series in general and not just Black Ops II. Complaining about long standing game mechanics is redundant. If you didn't want to play football, why'd you get Madden? If you didn't want arcade style run and gun, why'd you get Call of Duty?

Worst game of the series?

I think it might be. Seriously the game was just kind of all over the place. Let me give you a run down. The game starts. Then there is a cut scene. Then you are running. Then you are shooting. NOW you gotta do a jump in a car. Then it's snowing. now there is a nuclear war head. BOOM. then game is over.

I mean come on.... I want more to a game not just a rehashed roller coaster. Seriously they are making it all from an equation.
WAR + cut scene + car level + shoot the bad guys + never die cause you can just run and hide and your life meter increased magically = ALL COD GAMES

The multilayer is just Counter-strike on wheels. By wheels I mean console. Really though gun game is just a copy of counter-strike's gun game.

COD is for newbs get a real FPS

So cod is for newbs yeah? Are you a newb then as you clearly went out and bought it and spent your time completing it. It definitely had its problems but I don't see how you could say its the worst.

I think Black Ops 2 is one of the best in the series, in fact I think the Treyarch games are far superior to the Inifinity Ward games other than Cod 4. Modern Warfare 2 was by far the worst for me, in fact it was so bad that I didn't even get Modern Warefare 3 because I saw how similar the games were. Way too many killstreaks making the entire game about getting a harrier and then stacking kills for the higher kill streaks. It had no focus on gun play and Inifinity Ward were too slow to fix the annoying glitches.

My opinion is exactly the opposite. Black Ops 2 was the second greatest game in the series (inferior only to Modern Warfare 2).

I am saying this because of the non-linearity of the story and because the multiplayer is really fun on this game.

I hate to go with the circlejerks, but Ghosts is the worst one for me so far. I mean, the story was alright, but the multiplayer was atrocious.

I agree with you, Modern Warfare 3 is the worst Call of Duty game that I have played. I haven't played Ghosts or Advanced Warfare. Last CoD game that I have played was Black Ops 2, and that wasn't so bad. Modern Warfare 3 just felt a lot worse than Modern Warfare 2, which was a good game for me when it came out. Modern Warfare 3 felt stupid, and it felt like Modern Warfare 2.5, only worse. It was more of the same, which they managed to make worse, somehow.

I agree that Black Ops 2 was below average, it's certainly not the worst game in the series. At least they added some new mechanics to the game that made it worthwhile to play. Multiplayer was actually pretty fun after you progressed a bit and grabbed some friends. However, it didn't feel as "fresh" as World at War had been back in the day. Definitely room for improvement here.

I think BO2 is catered to RUSH style of play, which is great for me! I'm always the person at the spawn who runs out first to get to the other spawn. I know I annoy the crap out of people that way, but hey, it's all part of the game. For that, I disagree that BO2 is the worst one. In fact, it's the one I play the most often - still, two games removed! But I can understand that everyone has preferences, I just haven't heard a lot of criticism about it specifically.

Black Ops 2 was the first game in years to actually change the setting, and otherwise we would be stuck with the same old modern settings. Sure it's campaign is bad, as with the other COD games, but COD games are meant for the multiplayer. Black Ops 2 is okay, but the worst game is probably Ghosts.
