...or does this game look kind of bad in comparison to Black Ops 2? Especially in the multiplayer component? It seems like faces are kind of blurry, everything looks overly shiny (not new for IW CoD), shadows are really pixelated...it seems like in trying to get it out for so many different platforms the game took a hit visually. I don't know, maybe it's just me. I remember that level in BOII where it's raining and you glide down to the enemy base and whatnot and how good it looked. There's not really anything like that in this game.

The game was planned for next gen consoles (Xbox One/PS4) they originally had no intentions on releasing it for Xbox 360/PS3. They didn't change much regarding the game's graphics and mechanics. The engine used for next gen versions is the same for this version. The Xbox 360 and PS3 really just don't handle it as well. That's the plain and simple truth. If you want I can go into more detail.

I understand what happened regarding the engine and whatnot. Since the lighting is different from the "next-gen" console versions I presumed that they used a similar system for lighting and whatnot that they did with MW2 and MW3. Unfortunately it just seems like they half-assed it.

I would say the last minute (not really, but they did wait too long) call to switch the game to earlier gen consoles was half-assed. Considering that, they didn't do that bad of a job. They didn't do a *good* job, but it could be a lot worse. Most of the game handles and looks the way it should on Xbox 360 (I don't have PS3 so maybe Carlos or someone could help out on that subject). The problem again is that it's using the console to its limits. It's just not healthy for the system and issues arise. Particularly visual issues.

No, it wasn't that bad. It looked something like MW3 which for some reason looked worse than MW2 (at least to my eyes). I've not played the game on my PC, I only rented it and played it on my 360, so perhaps it looks a lot better when played on max settings.

Looks great on the PC. Only saw the campaign though. Couldn't set anything in the settings to Ultra though. Which is weird, locked me out when I did it. Even on high looks at least if not better the Xbox One/PS4 graphics. Problem is IW did something they shouldn't have with the PC version. They made it seem like you needed better computer specs to play the game. Some people can't even play it, they just get an error message saying something along the lines of not enough RAM. Sad when PC gamers are actually the majority of their costumers.

PC will derive a lot of the issues that you're currently seeing on Xbox 360 and PS3, since essentially it's a port across from PC to Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, and PS4. You'll be able to max out the game on PC, but I doubt there's going to be a major difference.

Infinity Ward was given a choice: Do the game themselves, or "outsource" the development of current-gen or next-gen release of Ghosts to another developer to ease development. But IW boss, Mark Rubin said "give me the whole shebang." Noting that it would be a challenge to develop for 5 or 6 different platforms. So, IW is only half-assing the current-gen consoles because they're already used to the coding of current gen, and very well versed with the current engine. It shows in PS4 that, the current engine cannot handle PS4.

So, the next few years is going to be a make or break year for Call of Duty franchise. The engine has already been maxed out, thanks to PS4. Someone in the rotation has to bring a much, much more powerful engine to make full use of PS4/Xbox One. Problem is, Activision won't be as open as EA to a new engine to the point of changing the whole thing into a new engine.

And yes, @Atlas of Karma the PS3 version works the same way as Xbox 360, if not for better or worse. Like I said elsewhere on this site: Both current gen consoles have been maxed out, so you will either see:

- Low quality textures/poly count.
- Framerate "lag"
- Lag compensation

And more, so if I were you, I'd buy the PS4/Xbox One version(s) if you want PC-level graphics, and framerate.

I hate the lag compensation ruins the whole game for me :(
