Which do you prefer to play??

When I first started playing on Black Ops 1 (my first experience playing COD), I wouldn't play hardcore. I didn't like not having everything on my screen. Since we bought Black Ops 2 though, my boyfriend made me play hardcore. Turns out, I love it! And now, I can't go back to playing regular without dying repeatedly because it takes so many more shots to kill someone.

Does anyone else have that problem, if you play both? Which do you prefer and why?

I was the other way, at first I played hardcore (Cod4), and I loved it and was awesome at it, then around black ops2, I started to get pretty sick of hardcore and in my honest opinion I think hardcore is easier. Simply because people just spray, and bam you're hit once and you're dead, and the guy who shot barely even knew you were there. I don't know I just got sick of that shit and moved to regular mode and actually ended up having much more fun.

I suck at hardcore. I don't play COD alot anyways, so that explains it. Last time I tried I died as soon as I walked out the door. I'm more a laid back gamer who likes to enjoy the game...not obsess over it. I'm glad you liked playing hardcore though. First girl gamer I've known that took kindly to it. :D

I personally like to play hardcore. I think it adds another level of intensity to the game, and I seem to value my life much more. The way I play in hardcore is completely different than when I play regular. I play regular as a run-and-gun-don't-give-a-damn, where as when I play hardcore I like to feel that I am in more of a realism mode. Every footstep you take can be deadly since everybody is on the edge of their chair listening for every little pin drop.

Oh, believe me, I fought it! haha. My boyfriend is a lot better than me. I'm not bad, I normally go positive on kill/death ratio and end up in the top quite often. But he has less of a life than me lol. So, he would do amazing and I would just die, spawn, die, spawn, die. It was terrible!! Pretty happy that my kids weren't old enough to understand cuss words at that point. haha.

I entirely agree that when you're playing hardcore it's a bit more "real". I definitely value my life a lot more in hardcore as well. Not that I'm super tactical or anything, despite constant criticism lol. But, I am more aware in hardcore. In regular, I feel like as long as I can get a running leap, even if I'm getting shot at, I'm invincible. haha

I do value my life more in hardcore, but that never stops me from dying instantly! I don't have the expensive headphones or surround sound hooked up -- not to mention, due to that lil guy in my avatar, I have to have the volume a lot lower; so I normally have to wait until I see people run across screen. And most of the time, by then I am dead in hardcore.

I used to be great in hardcore, but I guess my brain is getting older. So regular it is....

It depends really. Whenever I feel like playing got just to shoot some guns I would rather play on regular. But there are times when I am in the competitive mode, and hardcore has always felt very appropriate for those times.

I usually get those "I wanna be a badass today" moments and play hardcore. Other than that, I'm okay with playing on regular.

Hardcore of course.

Way easier to get kills.

If i haven't played COD in a while i usually go to regular mood to train then i head over to Hardcore.

I always play regular but when I feel like I wanna be a badass or something like that I put on Hardcore, it makes it feel like if you were actually in the war because in war they dont have points coming across the screen whenever you get an assist or something like that. Idk I just like hardcore because of the realness.

I personally used to prefer playing core on xbox 360 for black ops 2 and did pretty well for it then my friends introduced me to hardcore gamemodes like hardcore kill confirmed, hardcore capture the flag and hardcore search and destroy which I now play more frequently than the core gamemodes.

I love hardcore. I'll equip dexterity and endurance, grab an automatic shotgun, and just run around the map pissing people off. All it takes is quick reflexes. The only problem I have is like a few have said, a lot of players just spray and pray, and get kills. If they nerfed the guns a bit for hardcore mode, then it might improve a little bit, but that's just an idea.

I normally play on regular, I tend to like playing the game at my ability. I've played hardcore before and I couldn't manage to get through the first mission objective. I find playing to my ability better then playing against standards I cannot hope to beat. Yes, I may sound like a noob but that's just how I play. Regular is much easier for me although recruit is easier I like more of a challenge with regular. I'm much better on multiplayer online.

Hardcore is a fairly "Lag Resistant" mode I've found. I began my console shooter days with Goldeneye and my favorite game mode was Golden Gun. It was a weapon that gave you a guaranteed one hit kill, provided you connected with your target. Hardcore often feels a but like that. If you connect, you will kill your opponent and there's not much room for latency issues to screw you over. (Hardcore with a remington is the most lag resistant scenario in the game. You can play on a toaster and still get kills that way) If you enjoy hardcore mode, try out the "One in the chamber" mode in the party games menu. You get a single bullet in a pistol, which will kill your opponent if it connects. Assuming you make the kill, you get another bullet and another etc. If you miss, it's time to run around with knives. Many encounters break down into knife fights. The games are short but very intense.

I haven't had the guts to play hardcore yet. Haven't had any complaints with lag on the regular mode, so I've had no reason to switch. Once I level up a bit more and am feeling adventurous, I'll give it a shot.

If I meet you guys in hardcore, go easy on me? Lol

I personally prefer regular. I have played on Hardcore in previous COD's but to be honest, it's just not for me. I hate being killed and not knowing where I was killed from, and with no minimap it's hard to pinpoint where I should be looking! I have done well in MW2 on hardcore and earned a few titles from it, but I've always felt more comfortable playing on regular. Just my personal opinion, however when I'm bored I may switch to hardcore just for a change.

I have the same problem with any shooter multiplayer mode that doesn't have a kill cam. Though it's comparing apples and oranges, I had this problem with Battelfield 3. Not getting to see how you were killed means being thoroughly handicapped in learning from your mistakes. You don't always know if you were killed by a sniper taking advantage of an obvious position, a rogue bullet, random of camera splash damage from a vehicle, etc. You just run and die, 9 out of 10 times having little idea WHY you died. CoD has this mechanic right and other shooters really need to follow suit.

I tend to use regular has a warm up, or when I am feeling down and not too energetic. Generally, I feel like hardcore is the way the game is "meant" to be played, and I usually play on hardcore. Playing on hardcore automatically makes me play more carefully, therefore I end up with far less deaths than if I would play on regular.

I prefer regular because I hate people that teamkill. Very rarely do I play hardcore. I like rushing a lot, and that's not good at all in Hardcore, so I play regular pretty much all of the time.
