DMZ Crazy Bots

LazyLizard

Recruit
Since the DMZ 2.0 the bots have become ridiculously strong and numerous. Running in a team of three with three plate vests, an armour box and about 12 spare plates between us. We opened a safe and after an unending wave of armoured bots we were all wiped. Has anyone heard of an update coming to nerf the bots? I thought they were being nerfed with the update but they have been buffed.

if solo you can make progress so you have to plan best you can and avoid the most likely heavy populated spots. solo very challenging.

Akhdar Village... Zaya Observatory... Zarqwa HydroElectric... Al Sharim Pass... All of those areas are infested with Tier 3 goons right from the start....

All the other areas are Tier 1s until you start making your presence known.. Then Tier 3 goons show up in wave after wave of choppers...

Basically if I see T3s start to show up, I get the hell outta Dodge...

some areas you can creep buy and they dont see you and if its possible try to have access to buildings for cover. and a sniper goes along way to help eliminate a few before you enter some areas. and if you can hook up with some friends that work together you have pretty good chances. you go in with squad fill you probably have less then 50 percent chance to exfil.

One mission has you go to the observatory. Although it's an easy spot to get to and get out of to get the gps.

I just finished that one..

I got real luck.. I came across a chopper that was barely guarded.. Took out the few T1s and then went up to the edge of the Observatory... Grabbed the GPS and took off for an aerial tour of Al Mazrah.. Took me about 10 mins and 2 pitstops.. :D

Mission Accomplished...

Yea, the fringe areas aren't too bad.. You just have to resist the temptation to engage...

First time I tried, I got chased down by 2 teams while I was traveling in an LTV.
Second time, I got to 13 of 17 and ran out of time.
3rd time, couldn't find a heli anywhere, but for some reason, the controls don't work for me on PC.

First time I tried it was heartbreaking..

Hooked up with another guy and we each got the GPS so we went our separate ways, figuring we could cover more ground...

I had 16 of the 17, but gas was closing in and I had to get from the marshes to the fort.. Figured I could climb the mountain and parachute to the fort...

I was in the gas, the last exfil had already left.... And I was shot and down'ed within 20 meters of the fort area...

It was fun, but maddening.. :D

I've opened safes on my own, it depends where they are

Safes are usually ...er.. well.. safe :D to open.. You usually get one chopper or truck of T1 goons.. But, as you say, it depends on where you are.. If you are in an area with T3 goons are anyways, you'll get a wave of T3s...

One thing I have noticed.. If you are in an area with a safe and a wave of AI had just landed/arrived, then that counts as your "safe wave" and you can usually open a safe without any additional AI showing up..

Always think tactically.. :D

RECENTLY IMPLEMENTED

DMZ
  • Introduced some moderate changes to AI combatant damage that reduce lethality across Al Mazrah and Ashika Island in DMZ.

The most recent patch. Sounds like good news..

I think it's changed again since then as the bots seemed to be stronger and there were more of them in some areas.
Been trying to do that mission of 3 strongholds in 20 seconds each and we could not get it done as bots would just appear out of no where.

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't infinitely respawn, giving people time to regroup.
As soon as you clear one wave, 2 more come and it just never stops until your wiped.

Ha! Tier 3 bots are not that bad. It's that damn bald headed AI guy with the double barrel shotgun that always seems to creep and get me out of no where. Hate that guy!!!
