Low FPS

Hi!

I'm having trouble with low FPS on CoD4. I have a good computer and haven't had any problems with games like Battlefield 3 or MW2. The IPS is not the problem since I have low FPS even when I create a MP game for myself.

Can anyone help me with this? I really like this game, and can't believe it suddenly is unplayable.

You've got to be careful which server you land on in COD4, and you should know this by now. There's a lot of hacking going on in COD4 than it did 3 years ago. It's not just in console versions, it's also in PC.

PC is more of a open source "system." You've got to be careful which server you land on. How fast or how slow your game runs is a result of a good connection in the server. I don't think this is your issue, per-se, but rather, the server that you were on. It's possible that you were in a lagswitcher's server.

But I have low FPS when I start a MP-game all for myself. That aint right!

On singleplayer I have 40-50 FPS,but when I create a MP game it starts at 20-30 and when something happens it drops down to 10-15, especially when there's an explotion, like from a grenade or a car.

I think with the information, I think it's time to re-install the disc.

If I may, where'd you get this game? Store-bought, second-hand, or Steam?

Steam's a nice service, but COD4 is about 7 years old. Try to remember that.

Delete the copy you have now on your PC, download the new copy from Steam, install it, and try to find a patch update once you do. I don't know how Steam works, but it should automatically look for patch updates.
