Help to choose which COD to buy!

I have played and completed 5 Call of duty games on the PS3, but i can't seperate them in my head.
My question is: Which COD game for PS3 is similar to the action scenes in movies like saving private ryan, full metal jacket and kelly's heroes? With raw war on the battlefield, i dont want the special ops and black ops "james bond" style missions. I want to be with a platoon on the battlefield most of the game, with heartpounding tense military action.

I hope you COD experts can help me pick the right game for me to buy

World at War comes to mind when we're talking campaign. Then again no offense to COD games, but they aren't that great at really depicting a battlefield. There are other games out there that do a better job.

I really appreciated Modern Warfare's campaing. Especially the mission were a whole army is walking past your character and I think Price.

World at War is probably your best bet. The more-modern games are guerilla-warfare / terrorist centered.
