PC How should I improve?

I play BO2 on my PC since October 27 2013 (So I am still a rather new player).

I don't think I'm very good. The thing is that I'm not very accurate with my shots. I'm currently on prestige 2.

When I play custom games against bots, It's not that hard to be rather accurate with my favorite firearm in the game. The ballista sniper rifle. (It's yellow! Nice color!) Anyway, it's easier to kill when the enemies are either coming straight at me or away from me but it's hard to be accurate if the enemy is going left or right. The training I did with the bots are sorta helping me out since I seem to be a little better sniping than before (although I still prefer the kind that doesn't require moving). I like the maps drone and standoff since they offer good sniper areas for me (the enemies walk normally toward or away from the buildings, making it easy to snipe.

I have another class of SMG where I use the MSMC which I do a little better but since I need to get close to the enemies, it can be very annoying if the enemies keep going in zigzag or jumping then lie down (how am I supposed to shoot let alone react?)

I would like to know what I should do to improve and be more accurate wite my weapons. Thanks.

Well, you posted this a while back but better late than never I guess...

When someone is crossing your field of view horrizontally aim in front of them and wait for them to reach the centre of your crosshair.

BO2 really isn't a very good game for sniping though. I've played CoD4 competitively for years and my preference has always been scope or assault but in BO2 I pretty only play SMG because that's what the maps end themselves to.

To each their own though...

Call of Duty has always been weird when it comes to snipers, you don't have to lead your shot or adjust for bullet drop at distances. One thing would be to turn your sensitivity down and when you're aiming for something strafing left or right try to let them come into your cross hairs. You won't do well with lower sensitivity, but it's good practice for when you go back to your normal sensitivity it will seem much easier and quicker to aim on target. I practice this way with throwing tomahawks/combat axes, but it can really be applied to any gun or strategy. I've improved greatly through just doing this everyone once in a while. If you have a really high sensitivity and you feel you're missing shots, sometimes bringing it down a little in settings will help improve accuracy. I always turn down my sensitivity when I use a sniper, not a lot, but generally 2 or 3 from where it was for more precise aiming since sniping needs pinpoint accuracy.
Hope this helps!

It might not be the same on console because on PC you can just move your mouse faster if you're using a low sensitivity, but it's usually best to play on as low a sensitivity as possible.

I'd aim for your mouse pad = just over a 180 turn. Your never going to need to turn more than 180 degrees and you'll find that your aim improves greatly. :)

I do agree that keeping at normal sensitivity level works best for practice and then adjust when you're used to the sensitivity and control. I also agree that the best way to become a better sniper is to calibrate your sniper rifles to "center" at the body/head. Move your crosshairs often to do this.

The advice is coming from a console gamer, but it's still true for PC.
