Can someone please tell me if you purchase a character pack from the main store can it be used in dmz? Or only the ones from the dmz store can be used? Don't wanna waste cod points for nothing

If the character had the DMZ tag, yes. But right now, MW2 DMZ is considered end of life. That means, anything you buy that is intended for DMZ, it doesn't work anymore.
So, whatever you do... do not buy it for DMZ.

Im about a month into MWII, very late to the game but really digging it and DMZ especially.
For those that know, does end of life essentially mean that IW is going to literally shut down the servers i.e. not possible to play at all? Or will so many people depart for B06 that it will just die due to lack of player count.

Generally end of life means that no more support is really given to the game. Dont expect any updates or new stuff. Any existing concerns, glitches or whatever will stay for ever. Normally there will be some servers but I can only guess how many servers there are still running and how many if any will be shutdown.

Honestly since DMZ wont be in BO6, while it might dwindle a bit it seems there are enough die hards (guys I play with are on 3-5 accounts) that it will stay relatively alive.
I do think Delta Force will shift the player base depending on how its received. Im really bummed I dont think ill be able to play that (at least anytime soon) as Im on Mac via GeForce. Sent them inquiries if there are plans to release on GeForce and received boiler plate response... twice. As expected lol.

im playing delta force demo and did alpha test and like it ok, i was a dmz junkie but dont plan on buying bo6. dmz was the best one to play for me and it sucks they did not do anything to expand on it.
