Greetings, Devil Dog! Welcome to the Call of Duty Forums. It looks like you're looking forward to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, but haven't created an account yet. Why not take a minute to So here's the deal.
Currently in theater, resources limited
2x Xbox 360 (Brand new as far as we're aware)
2x CoD BO2 (Also, brand new)
No access to internet (so, no updates.. etc)
Legitimate networking education (rusty, though)
1x Random Cisco router my buddy conned off a guy on camp. No access rights. Pretty much useless.
(Eventually my own shit will arrive, but my friends are impatient)
But hey, we're desperate. So we try to run the game on system link (wired), no luck. Go in to xbox settings and manually configure network settings. Now we can see each other, but when we try to join it gives an in-game error (no description or error code) and goes back to the menu. NAT is strict. Like I said, no access rights to this router so I can't configure it.
Now a solution would be awesome, but really I just want to know if anyone has experienced or heard of this before. I expect it to all work out once my gear gets here, but it seems a bit more complicated than that. The last thing I need is my buddies pissed off that I convinced them to spend hundreds of dollars on something that, for no good reason, isn't going to work.
Sorry if this is confusing, I'm tired as hell right now.
To sum it all up: Has anyone had/heard of connection issues with BOII when it comes to system link?
