Anyone have a good/better/best layout for the perks system? I am just an average player. Seems like I don't have anything close to what I need.
I am level 15 with:
Hardline
Gambler
Sleight of Hand
Ready Up
Steady Aim
Any suggestions would be great.

Depends on your play style, what guns you're using, what killstreaks you're using, what game modes you're playing etc. I could help you out with classes and guarantee you'll notice improvement, just give me the details. ;)

I'll take you up on that: Domination! :)

level 25
kill/confer
using the maverick/sometimes a SMG,: maverick has high damage and a tracker scope, SMG has rapid fire and scope.
I am trying not to be a run and gunner anymore, simply because I am sick of getting shot in the back.
steady aim
ready up
sleight of hand
gambler,
killsteaks are support
sat com
ammo crate
oracle.

I need more info than that, but if you want here's my basic domination class:
weapon: LMG m27-iar with rapid fire and flash suppressor. kills quick thanks to rapid fire, very accurate over sustained fire and long distance thanks to flash suppressor. 100 bullet drum magazine, reload time decent for an LMG.
perks: lightweight, blast shield, steady aim, focus, ready up. Lightweight gives an unexpected speed boost to a slow LMG class, blast shield to survive explosives, steady aim for hip fire when surprised by enemy, ready up for quicker aiming from slower ads from LMG, focus for multiple target engagement (a good advantage in domination)
Type of class: Mobile, but not run and gun. Very defensive, but can be good offensively too, medium to close range. No secondary needed, no equipment needed. ;)

This class is for kill confirmed? Lightweight is a must have to confirm your kills quicker.
Depends what smg you have, if you use any equipment, exactly which attachments are on your guns, etc. details man! Easier to help if I know exactly what you have/want for your class.
Here's the kill confirmed class I use:
Vepr with silencer (or flash suppressor) + extended mags (or grip), lightweight, ready up, steady aim, sleight of hand, on the go, dead silence, and takedown. Stealthy class for confirming kills without giving away position (this would be with the silencer, dead silence and takedown), steady aim for unexpected engagements, ready up for an advantage since smgs ADS faster, lightweight for confirming kills, sleight of hand and on the go for staying mobile while quickly reloading. Vepr kills fairly quick even with the silencer attached, silencer aids in stability (that or flash suppressor or grip). Vepr's clip size is okay, but with extended mags multiple enemies can be killed for confirms with little problems on whether you have enough bullets. Very mobile class, easy to use, no need to run and gun, but moving is always recommended. Only weakness is long range engagements, medium to close is no problem. No need for secondary or equipment.

If you guys want classes with equipment or secondaries or both just ask I barely use classes with these because most of the time both are unnecessary if you use your primary properly :D

I'm usually a run n' gun player, but I alternate between rushing and sniping. Though in Ghosts, I had been playing defensively.

Thanks for the suggestions, good sir! :)

In my opinion utilizing the mini map is worth an extra 200%. I'm not saying that you should pick "off the grid", simply because there are to many other good perks. A silencer is a must in my opinion. If you are often within enemy lines, getting something like ping can be very use full.

If you are more or less a run and gunner take dead silence and something like ready up or quick draw, if you are more or less the defensive type take amplify. Have been testing the latter out my self some games ago and it can really help. Though you need good head phones to determine whether they come from left or right :p.

Since COD is a fast paced game getting something like extended mags or slight of hands is a must. Especially in Domination with the insta respawns.

If you like the gun you have very much, and if you do not want to swap it with one of your enemies getting scavenger or fully loaded can be quite helpful as well.

Conclusion: I'd rather go for more stealthy and durable perks. Durable as in that you should be able to kill 2 or 3 people off in a fire fight.
