I bring to you today a concept for a new mode.
Combining aspects of:
—Vanguard zombies
—outbreak
—black ops 4 zombies
—cold war zombies
—escape to Tarkov
—dying light 2
—and finally, pokemon legends: Arceus
*WORLD CONCEPT!*
How does pokemon play into this?
I yield the concept of a multi open world progressive survival mode. A separate game mode from round based. It works in a similar function to where you have a home base and hub as vanguard and pokemon both have. Like both games, different challenges and areas around said maps and areas (like different outbreak zones) will yield new items, weapons, and perks per zone. You will be able to choose which zones you enter from your own homebase, but you will have to unlock them as you go. Any progress made inside the game, will be permanently saved unless you decide to reset for the sake of replay ability. Any items found while in outbreak zones, perks obtained, and weapons will be saved inside the hub. Like escape to tarkov and somewhat pokemon, if you die with any loot found inside these zones you will lose your items on you. BUT! this ONLY applies to items found inside the run. Perks, weapons, and pre-brought items will be kept upon death. If you purchase a perk for the first time and acquire it during a mission, but fail to complete you’re mission and die, you will lose the perk. If you started the mission with the perk you would NOT lose it. You can reaquire your newly found items by returning to your death spot, as long as you can make it there alive. Don’t challenge bosses unless you’ve deposited any rare items.
*NEW FEATURE:
crafting
Here’s another way I say pokemon is tied in. The new pokemon game includes, not only new pokemon and scenery in said area (Zombies and horrors in cod), but also the addition of new crafting supplies. The scrap feature from Cold War would be a good example, except more detailed. To craft a monkey bomb, you’d need to find simple metal parts, monkey bombframe, dynamite, and a bomb timer. Once all supplies have been found, you can craft this item. Crafting supplies would be found in scrap piles, rock nodes, broken down cares, broken buildings, and even higher loot in areas similar to dying light 2s zombie nests. If you clear these high infested zones, you’ll be rewarded with higher loot.
*PERK SYSTEM!*
After following the crafting and scavenger system, perks will be numerous and like
Cold War, upgradable. You won’t be using normal items to do so. You’ll need hard earned rare materials such as Dr Montys Elixirs, special potion mixes, dark ether fungi and herbs, ethereal crystals, and even consumable items.
Different perks and will need different materials.
Example: due to quick revive being a health perk, a healing herb would be the required item to upgrade it.
Stamin-up! Would need energy inducing items.
A consumable tactical item (like stim for example) would be an energy drink. This would allow you to run faster.
To upgrade stamin-up You’d need to craft said energy drink from materials in the wild and use it to upgrade stamin-up.
Now, since you can only upgrade so much, how will this work? There aren’t many per- hush.
Bo4 has a great solution.
Multiple small perks. Instead of having an insanely OP perk system where each perk has 90,000 abilities, you’ll have a large quantity of perks to level up and improve on. Perk limit is non existent so you can upgrade to your fullest!! But won’t this make the game too easy..? Not at all.
Boss fights will be held inside the infected zones as well as have roaming boss zombies around the maps, even the low level maps. This balances out the high tiered weapons, perks, and tacticals you have. How so? Well, if you DONT have 40 perks, a maxed out gun or wonder weapon, you won’t be able to survive these boss fights. Different maps that you unlock have different difficulty levels as well, opening the way for new materials, new upgrades new weapons, new wonder weapons, new perks, and new bosses. You can’t upgrade without materials mind you, so you need to venture to new zones to find said materials.
*POINT SYSTEM AND WEAPONS!*
Points are an amazing feature and always will be. But...how would they be used?
Purchasing perks for the first time, buying weapons, and even special wall buys. The best Wall buys will only be in special zombie infected zones. You can still find average ones along the map like usual. Although...wonder weapons..?
That’s a different story. Wonder weapons will need special items and “Easter egg” steps to follow to acquire them. Of course, there’s a main story to follow here. Each map would have its own Easter egg. But that’d be horribly hard to set up.
PAP, attachments, elemental abilities, perks for the first time, unlocking new areas inside the hub, more storage supplies, and unlocking new maps all require points. Points are acquired by the same means as every cod game. Only difference is how costly perks are and how the income is set, similar to outbreak.
